Ait Bouguemez Valley Trekking
The valley of Ait Bouguemez (Happy Valley) is located in the middle of a limestone Massif; Stretching over 30 km long with many charming villages; clinging to the rock. People continue to live in the traditional Berber sedentary farmers in the north and semi-nomadic pastoralists in the south. Ait Bouguemez valley is rich in crops (especially apples). So, this is a lovely, easy and rich trip for you to discover the heart of the Atlas.

Reception at the Menara airport’s and Transfer to hotel or riad.
Departure early morning from Marrakech, the drive offers a beautiful view over the Atlas and Jbilat Mountains, to Azilal through Tmellalet, then continue to the famous valley of Ait Bouguemez. Dinner and overnight in our Guest House Dar Afra in the village of Ait Ziri.
Start our hike, great day that allows us to meet the villagers working in the fields. We will be walking between gardens, and then passing through the villages of Timmit, Ighef n’Igher, Ait Ouanougdal till Ifrane village 2010 m. Dinner and overnight in a lodge.
We leave the village of Ifrane, climb the mountain side to a pass located on the crest Adazen (2200 m.), we continue by a path, through a forest of juniper and oak trees to reach the village of Rbat (1935 m.), stop for Lunch. In the afternoon, we discover the village of Ibaklliwne and visit the dinosaur tracks. Dinner and overnight in a lodge, in ait Imi village.
After breakfast, the path leads us to the village of Tabant, the administrative center of the valley, then we go up to the pyramid of TIMIT to visit Sidi Moussa an old fortified granery (2008 m), which offer a nice view overlooking the valley, then we descend the road leading to the villages of Timmite, Aguerd Nouzrou and reach the village of Ait Ziri. Dinner and overnight in guest house.
We leave Ait Ziri; we continue our discovery of villages in Ait Bouguemez valley: Idkkalin, Taghida, Agouti… We cross the Tamzrite plateau to reach Ait Said village, Arous valley and wide grassy ledge of Azibs Arous, a beautiful structure built of stone. Stop for Lunch, and then go back to the Ait Said village. Dinner and overnight in lodge.
Hike for 1h30 from the Arouss gorges to the village Tighza, where we take our minibus to Ouzoud cascades via Azilal, stop for lunch, then continue to Marrakech. Overnight at the hotel or Riad.
