Middle Atlas Trekking
This hike takes place in a protected and very natural environment in the heart of the Middle Atlas. A virgin mountain, an average altitude and little known, an environment rich in flora and fauna: forests of oaks, cedar forests, springs, and lakes, high plateaus where the shepherds “Zayane” set up their camp throughout most of the year. There, we can observe birds, eagles, and monkeys … We will also meet a Berber population.

Middle Atlas Trekking Itinerary
Arrive in Fez or Marrakech, transfer to the heart of the midina. night at the hotel.
Transfer via Khenifra to the village Ait Nouh, the starting point of our hike, meeting our muleteers’ team, lunch at the inhabitant, afternoon we cross a small forest and a valley to reach the lake of toumliline. Dinner and overnight at the Camp.
We cross a forest of cedar, juniper and oak where we found a few villages. We go along the Valley of Jnane Mass passing near the hamlets, shepherds who move with their herds on the plateau, we reach the point overlooking the valley of Boumzil where we set up camp.
We continue our trek through the land of Zayan (the warriors of the Middle Atlas: Mouha Ouhamou Zayani). We walk through pastures and forests of oak and cedar, we can have tea with the locals. This area is a large place of pasture, much frequented by transhumant. Our day will be particularly pleasant freshness, The wild and sublime beauty of nature, on a path without much difficulty. Bivouac on the bank of Tiglmamine lake.
We are still in the Zayan country, a famous tribe in the Moroccan history, a very friendly population, we follow a path through the forests of cedar trees. These forests is home to monkeys, great views of the mountains and the cedar forest « of Ighoud ». Bivouac on the bank of Azigza lake.
We cross a cedar forest on an easy mule track. This forest was home to the Lions of the Atlas, and tigers, lost around 1970. Via Oum Rabia Valley, With its many villages and crops,we reach our camp on the bank of the river, afternoon walk, optional, to the sources of Oum Rabia, then return to the camp.
we left our last camp, and join our transport in the Oum Rabia village, then go back to Fez. Overnight at the Riad in the heart of midina.
Free day to visit Fes. Overnight at the Riad.
Excursion to Volubilis and Meknes, then return to Fez. Overnight at the Riad.
Transfer to the airport, « end of our services. »
